General Info

School of Engineering Management was founded by a group of young, renowned scientists and professors who earned their degrees from prestigious universities worldwide. They returned to Serbia with the mission of introducing the most advanced and modern academic programs.

Professors from the University of Cambridge, University of London, Stanford University, University of Potsdam, Cornell University, and Rutgers University bring cutting-edge teaching methods and skills essential for future European generations.

As the first higher education institution whose programs have been recognized by the Serbian Society of Engineering Management, our School has established technical cooperation with leading engineering, IT, and telecommunications companies in Serbia, providing direct benefits to students.

In line with the Bologna Declaration, the School organizes undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies and operates as an independent legal entity within Union University “Nikola Tesla”.

Recognizing higher education as the foundation of a knowledge-based society and a driving force of economic and cultural progress, as well as the cornerstone of human rights and freedoms, the School is committed to providing high-quality education at all three levels of study—undergraduate, master's, and doctoral. Our mission is to ensure the highest academic standards by equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address societal challenges, contribute to national development, and actively participate in scientific research and community advancement.

We offer accredited academic programs in:

  • Dramatic and Audiovisual Arts (Arts),
  • Management and Business (Social and Humanistic Sciences).

In line with its mission, the School of Engineering Management continuously strives to improve the quality of higher education and integrate into the unified European Higher Education Area.

VISION

The vision of the School is to become a leading institution of higher education and scientific research in the fields of Technical and Technological Sciences, Social and Humanistic Sciences, and Arts. It aims to educate highly skilled professionals who are academically and professionally equipped for clearly defined and recognized careers, competent to conduct independently an original, scientifically relevant, current, and internationally validated research — aligned with the legitimate and practical needs of the economy and society, both nationally and across Southeast Europe.

The School continuously evaluates and enhances its core objectives and institutional goals to maintain excellence, relevance, and innovation in education and research.

Aims & Objectives

Main Aims:

  1. To provide education at all three levels of study—undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral—in the following fields: Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (within the Technical and Technological Sciences); Dramatic and Audiovisual Arts (within the Arts); and Management and Business (within the Social and Humanistic Sciences).
  2. To conduct scientific research, development, and professional projects independently or in collaboration with national and international organizations and institutions, as well as to apply development solutions in practice.
  3. To publish scientific and professional papers, including the dissemination of project results, through the School's publishing activities.
  4. To organize national and international scientific and professional conferences, as well as guest lectures.
  5. To support the development of young teaching and research staff.
  6. To implement high academic standards, modern teaching methods, and contemporary scientific research practices in accordance with international higher education standards and the Bologna Process. This includes continuous alignment with the latest scientific and professional developments in Technical and Technological Sciences (TTN), Social and Humanistic Sciences (DHN), and Arts, ensuring students gain applicable knowledge and skills in line with societal needs and national development strategies.
  7. To conduct regular self-evaluation (at least every three years) and external quality assessments (at least every five years) in order to implement timely improvements to study programs, teaching practices, faculty performance, student assessment, textbooks, and other educational resources.
  8. To ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks in higher education, including admissions, faculty and staff management, student records, contracts, financial operations, and graduation protocols.

Main Objectives:

  1. To continuously improve the educational and research processes, along with all other operational activities.
  2. To ensure a high standard of teaching quality at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral study levels across the following fields: Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (within the area of Technical and Technological Sciences), Dramatic and Audiovisual Arts (within the area of Arts), and Management and Business (within the area of Social and Humanistic Sciences).
  3. To provide all necessary human, technological, financial, and other resources for the effective and high-quality implementation of educational and scientific research activities in the aforementioned fields.
  4. To enable undergraduate and master's students to: acquire a broad base of knowledge and skills; develop practical abilities and creative competencies for analyzing and solving work-related problems; cultivate critical understanding and the ability to apply critical thinking in practice; independently design and conduct research aimed at addressing practical and theoretical challenges; critically evaluate models, procedures, and achieved results; develop traits essential for teamwork, innovation, cooperation, and effective communication within work environment; engage in continuous scientific and professional development; attain competencies that are socially relevant and professionally distinctive, enabling them to perform their roles independently.
  5. To support the development of scientifically qualified researchers and future university professors through doctoral studies, by: enabling them to conduct independent, original, and scientifically relevant research; fostering the ability to critically assess the work of others; encouraging the creation of innovative solutions through individual and team-based research; preparing them to work across diverse academic, scientific, and professional environments based on scientific knowledge and critical thinking.
  6. To strengthen collaboration with companies and institutions through existing and new cooperation agreements, and by implementing innovative and developmental solutions in business practice.
  7. To promote student mobility at both national and international levels, ensuring smooth transitions for continued study at the master’s and doctoral levels at home and abroad.
  8. To enhance the efficiency and functionality of the information system.
  9. To support the ongoing professional and scientific development of teaching staff, with the aim of mastering modern teaching methods and encouraging creativity.
  10. To provide continuous training and professional development for non-teaching staff, aimed at improving efficiency in working with students and fostering their diligence, creativity, and innovativeness.

The Faculty Management oversees the implementation of these tasks and objectives, continuously reviewing and adjusting them in line with user needs, scientific progress, educational developments, and societal changes.

Human Resources

School’s human resources, including academic staff and administrative personnel, represent a vital asset that ensures the efficiency of operations and the fulfillment of the institution’s vision and mission.

Library

School of Engineering Management Library, located within the Faculty building, is the only library in Serbia that houses complete collections of journals in the fields of engineering management, engineering economics, project management, and human resource management, published worldwide over the past 10 years.

The library also provides textbooks necessary for courses at all levels of study.

Facilities & Equipment

School of Engineering Management is located in a building that offers an ideal academic environment.

The premises include amphitheaters, lecture halls, workshops and training rooms, academic staff offices, reading rooms, and other specialized facilities.

Additionally, the Faculty features ISO-certified IT laboratories, equipped with state-of-the-art ICT technology for lectures and practical exercises. These labs are designed to facilitate small-group learning, in line with the modern education principles outlined in the Bologna Declaration.

Every classroom is equipped with a projector, a networked computer and cutting-edge multimedia equipment. All professor offices are networked, and there is also a computer laboratory with 30 internet access points for student use.
